Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, blog friends. You rock!!!!

merry christmas

p.s. This snow is so ridiculous. We're still stuck on our street. We had a plow come through--he got our hopes up. But when we looked more closely, he didn't have his plow down. He was just using our circle as a turnaround. HO HO HO!!!! On the upside, our pantry seems to be getting cleaned out all on it's own. Ditto for the fridge.

Treasures of Yore

I can't remember the last time I've had to buy ribbon. I'm usually in a mad rush to wrap something, so I go in my craft room and grab what I have--which is fabric--and rip, rip, rip, there you go...ribbon!!!

These are Christmas presents for my family that, due to the snow storm and my pretty much being stranded in my house on a ridiculously steep hill, will be late. But that's okaaay, because knowing me and my aversion to the post office during this time of year, these would have been late anyway.

I just love sewing on paper. Especially the antiqued kind. Esp. the kind that once turned into envelopes can hold treasures from the past. These are good presents. Sorry Linda and Mom & Dad (and Peter, although I know you don't even bother reading my bloggy), I cannot say more. You'll just have to wait...until after Christmas. :)

Gift for Gracie

I *heart* handmade. If I had the time, I'd make all my Christmas gifts. I'm thinking about gifts for the kids' teachers. One of my friends told me that she read that teachers get tired of all the handmade stuff--that they'd prefer money instead. Is that true??? If it is, that makes me a wee bit sad.

Zip top shirt

zip top

The other day I was out window shopping when I saw a long-sleeved knit shirt that had a zipper sewn on the front of it. My first thought: "That's so cool." My second thought: "I could totally make that." So I did.
