Explaining my Absence

Awww! I was so glad to see comments from my old bloggy friends. Thank you! I've missed you!! I've missed this space. I'm not even sure I have much to blog about these days--at least not in the way I did in the past--life has taken a 180 degree turn. I haven't sewn anything in a few years.

I used to do all my sewing at night after the kids were in bed, but then when their autoimmune stuff happened, they had nighttime anxiety issues that made it so I had to sit in their bedrooms with them while they were falling asleep. There were times they didn't fall asleep until well after midnight. All the stress and anxiety took a toll on them, of course, but also on me, and the thought of crafting, sewing, etc. just started to feel so unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Bye bye blog and bye bye Etsy shop! :( Bye bye writing tutorials for Michael Miller.  Bye bye friends I used to hang out with at the coffee shop when my kids were in school. Bye bye free time, because I started homeschooling my kids. Life pretty much fell apart.

So anyway, I turned my attention to healing my kiddos. Doctors seemed not to know what to do with them. Their answer to everything was antibiotics, more antibiotics, different antibiotics, stronger antibiotics, a combo of antibiotics and of course steroids. We watched the kiddos get worse and worse...after all, what are antibiotics but little nuclear bombs that go off in your gut twice a day? So we got off the antibiotic cycle and started trying alternative things. Diet, supplements, genetic testing, more supplements, ionic footbaths, chelation, on and on it went. We'd see improvements and then setbacks. It was a total roller coaster (times 3) until we found homeopathy.

Homeopathy saved us.

Stay tuned for the next exciting episode!!!

p.s. I'm leaving comments on, can you believe it? So unlike me, but I'm craving human interaction, so please say HI! :)

I remember you sharing some of that by email and I know it must have been so hard! Really glad you found something that has worked for your kids and can't wait to hear more.

Thanks for your comments! Katie--how can I get in touch with you? I don't think flickr does mail anymore...or if it does, I can't seem to find it.
