On Memorial day we told the kids to get a ziploc bag and pack up their Lego Ninjagos--we'd be taking them to the Ninjago spinjitzu dojo. They were skeptical, but went along with it. (Afterall, two days before they'd seen Kung Fu Panda 2, and in their fantasy world everything is possible, right? Awwww, I love that about kids.)
We drove them to the Bellevue Botanical Garden where there's a Japanese tea house (well, they call it a pavilion, but I call it a tea house), and look at the first thing Middle did:
Pardon the blurry photos, but that kid was ON FIRE! He's a fierce one, he is.
After he got that out of his system, they started to work on their project...painstakingly placing their dudes in position after position to tell a story.
We walked over to the waterfall and then to the Yao Garden for some more photo-ops. I have so many photos from that day.
This summer we'll go over the photos and put them in order. We'll caption the pictures and turn this into a book. Of course, we won't forget the most important part: the blurb about the authors.
Mwah, mwah, and mwah!
