Lucky me

Melissa, from Wishes Dreams Love held a drawing to mark her one year blog anniversary, and I got lucky! Look at these beautiful vintage buttons from the 30's that used to belong to her grandmother. Some of them even have little pieces of fabric still connected to them from where they were attached to clothes. My boys have been organizing and reorganizing them into various bowls according to size, color and number of holes. So fun! Thank you Melissa for the gorgeous buttons! I'll take good care of them!

She also surprised me with some extras--handknit caps for the boys and a tissue holder made out of vintage tractor fabric. Me likey.

And here's another fun package...geesh, I'm so super lucky. Fart quarters. (Sorry, never could say that right.) Six of them. From Sew, Mama, Sew. I won the Free Fabric Friday last week. Woo hoo! Thanks Kristin!!!!

I have serious button envy now. And those fabrics too, yum. (Though now I'll never be able to think of a fat quarter as anything other than farty!).

Isn't it weird how what ever age, wheteher a toddler or a grown up buttons always fasinate.

'Fart' quarter had never actually entered my head before, but no doubt it will be known as that, and that only !!!

Oh wow!!! I love the lime greenish square button with the four very large holes in it. (just left of center) We used to have a tin of buttons that had been under the sewing machine cabinet. I wonder where those ever ended up? Probably one of Mom's garage sales.

That's funny, I have a button box just like that, also from my mom. It seem they could never throw out anything without taking the buttons off and it's funny, but I do the same thing now.

I have some of the green peas and carrots fabric and I love it, but I am not sure what it will be yet. I am thinking of making some gardening aprons for an upcoming craft show but only time will tell!
